The International Court of Justice at The Hague, Netherlands, has faulted Pakistan for violating international law in convicting and sentencing Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav. Kulbhushan Jadhav was sentenced to death in 2017 by a Pakistani military court on charges of terrorism and spying. The ICJ has ordered that Pakistan review the conviction and the death sentence and that it do so while providing Jadhav consular access to India. India said Kulbhushan Jadhav was a former Indian Navy officer turned businessman who was abducted from Iran, illegally brought to Pakistan and sentenced under a sham trial. India also accused Pakistan of violating international law by not granting New Delhi consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav.
